You do not have to decode this alone

When care changes quickly, the paperwork cannot fall behind.

Families often call when a loved one is already in rehabilitation or a nursing facility and the current coverage may not last. They are worried about care, cost, deadlines, and an application they have never completed before.

Medicaid Consultant Services turns that uncertainty into an organized plan. Angela begins with a telephone interview, identifies the information needed, reviews documents with the family, prepares the MassHealth application, and stays involved after it is filed.

Why Angela does this work

How the process works

One point of contact. Four clear stages.

Every case is different, but the work should never feel mysterious.

01

Start with a conversation

Angela learns what has changed, where care is being provided, and what coverage is in place now.

02

Build the document plan

You receive a focused list of the records and information the application may require.

03

Prepare and submit

Angela reviews the documents, organizes the packet, and prepares the application for submission.

04

Follow the case

She helps respond to requests, communicates with MassHealth, and advocates with the nursing facility as needed.

Meet your consultant

Experience with the process. Compassion for the people in it.

Angela Valego built Medicaid Consultant Services after years of seeing overwhelmed families try to navigate long-term care coverage on their own. Her role is part guide, part organizer, and part advocate.

She is not an attorney and does not promise eligibility or approval. When legal or estate-planning advice is needed, she can recommend that the family speak with a qualified attorney.

Common questions

Start with the facts that matter most.

Does Medicare pay for long-term nursing home care?

Medicare may cover qualifying short-term skilled nursing facility care when its requirements are met. It generally does not cover ongoing custodial long-term care. The number of covered days is not guaranteed and depends on the person’s circumstances and continued eligibility.

What happens when Medicare skilled nursing coverage ends?

If nursing home care is still needed, payment may shift to private funds, long-term care insurance, or MassHealth if the person qualifies. Beginning the information-gathering process early can help a family understand the options before coverage changes.

Is MassHealth the same as Medicare?

No. Medicare is federal health insurance. MassHealth is Massachusetts’ Medicaid program and may provide long-term services and supports to people who meet its financial, clinical, residency, and other requirements.

Can Angela guarantee that an application will be approved?

No. Medicaid Consultant Services is independent from MassHealth and cannot guarantee eligibility, timing, or approval. Angela helps families prepare carefully, respond to requests, and stay organized through the process.
